As descendants of Jewish refugees, her ancestors fled persecution—from the Bolsheviks in Ukraine to the Holocaust in Poland—and later sought refuge in Cuba before finally settling in Miami. A product of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Tuchman continued her education at New College of Florida, amidst its current controversies over political agendas and academic freedom. She excelled despite the challenges of navigating the educational system as an English second language speaker without full awareness of available resources. From Classroom to Tech Entrepreneurship

Tuchman’s career began in the classrooms of Miami as part of Teach For America, followed by a transformative stint in the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs in New York City. Her role in the Bloomberg administration and subsequent achievements—including earning dual degrees from Harvard and her work as a White House fellow—reflect her multifaceted approach to leadership and governance.

In 2016, Tuchman and co-founder Alvaro Sabido launched Caribu to address educational disparities through technology. After raising nearly $6 million in venture capital and making strategic decisions to support diversity in investment, Tuchman successfully sold Caribu to Mattel in 2022.
